Weather windows

We are sitting in a beautiful marina in the middle of no-where waiting for our weather window. A low pressure will be passing just north of us in the next two days and at the point we should be good to go. In the mean time, we have been busy getting prepared for the passage. This is the best prepared we have ever been before. Usually, during a passage, there is a moment when something goes crash, bang or leaks. Now, all I have to do is prepare some meals for bad weather, homeschooling and clean up. Paul wants to repair a bilge pump that he has had the rebuilt kit for almost 4 years. Funny how some projects get delayed for that long. This delay is fine with us as we get to do some little odds and ends and enjoy the spectacular view of the Whangarei Heads.

It was sad to leave our temporary home at the Town Basin Marina. Our boat neighbors have become our extended family and waving good-bye to them felt like I was leaving Hollywood again. I will have fond memories of this place and happy to have made new friends here.
